COVID-19 Information

Dear Excel Center families,

We hope this message finds you healthy and safe. As many of you are aware, the COVID-19 vaccine is now available across the United States. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), COVID-19 vaccination is an important tool to help stop the COVID-19 pandemic and helps protect people from getting sick or severely ill with COVID-19 and might also help protect people around them.

Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana supports and encourages you, your family and friends, as well as others within our communities to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Stopping a pandemic requires using all the tools we have available. Wearing masks and social distancing help reduce your chance of being exposed to the virus or spreading it to others, but studies show these measures are not enough. Vaccines work with your immune system, preparing it to fight the virus if you are exposed.

The sooner we are vaccinated, the sooner we can all safely return to our schools in person, as we know how important collaboration is for our students. 

According to the CDC, COVID-19 vaccines are new, and it’s normal for people to have questions about them. The sheer amount of information—and misinformation—about COVID-19 vaccines can be overwhelming to anyone. We understand that guidance changes often. Please let us know if you or anyone you know needs help identifying COVID-19 vaccination sites, scheduling a shot, accessing information or getting safely to an appointment.
